Evelyn F. Nissirios is a Partner with Meyerson, Fox & Conte. Evelyn devotes 100% of her practice to divorce and family law. She provides representation on all levels, handling complex divorce litigation involving custody and parenting time issues, significant financial issues, equitable distribution of assets, alimony and child support, valuation of businesses, drafting and negotiating prenuptial agreements, and representing clients in domestic violence trials. She is regarded by her peers as a highly skilled matrimonial attorney, who finds practical solutions to challenging situations. Known for her zealous advocacy, Evelyn is frequently appointed by the Court to serve as Guardian ad litem to represent the best interests of minor children in contested custody matters and has served as Court-appointed counsel representing indigent parents in contested adoptions. Evelyn is also trained as a Parent Coordinator.

In August 2023, Evelyn was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on the District IIA Ethics Committee as an attorney member. In December 2024, Evelyn was appointed to the position of Secretary of the District IIB Ethics Committee where she is currently serving.

Evelyn is also a volunteer panelist for the Bergen County Family Division, Early Settlement Panel and the Bergen County Non-Dissolution Docket, “FD Blitz”, a pilot program that commenced in January 2024.

Evelyn’s contributions to the legal profession do not stop there. Evelyn is an active member of the Bergen County Bar Association where she was appointed as Co-Chair of the Bergen County Family Law Committee, Co-Chair of the Judicial Selection Committee and Chair of the Mental Health Committee. She is a member of the Professionalism in the Law committee and the Diversity in the Profession Committee. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoys serving as a contributing author to the Women Lawyers in Bergen County quarterly newsletter.

Evelyn’s educational background includes a Juris Doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, and an undergraduate degree with a dual major in Economics and Philosophy from Rutgers University. Upon graduating law school, she served as a legal clerk at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office Judiciary and Prosecutors Section. There, she worked with the Deputy Attorney General and Section Chief providing legal representation to the judiciary and county prosecutors in Federal and State trial court and administrative litigation, handling matters including employment litigation and civil rights claims. Prior to joining the firm, Evelyn focused on complex civil litigation and tax related matters at a litigation practice in Passaic County.

Evelyn is admitted to the Bar of the State of New Jersey, and the U.S. District Court for the State of New Jersey.
