RMFMC&B is excited to officially announce the launch of the firm’s new privacy practice. This practice aims to help businesses navigate the myriad of recent laws in response to society’s increasing demand for privacy. From advising on issues involving Gramm-Leach Bliley to New Jersey Data Notification Law, the practice will be a resource for New Jersey’s businesses. However, privacy is more than simply a regulatory concern and touches upon areas involving employee monitoring, telecommuting, reputation management and contract law. It is our goal to ensure that our clients have the right policies and procedures in place to protect themselves against data breaches and privacy related workplace litigation.
This new practice will be led by Partner, John A. Conte, Jr. and two of our associates, Andrew P. Bolson, Esq. and Michael A. Austin, Esq. Andrew has received his Certification as a United States Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the world’s leading privacy organization. Andrew has an extensive depth of knowledge on privacy issues and has authored several articles about privacy, including “A Primer on N.J.’s Data Breach Notification Law” and “The Internet Has Grown Up, Why Hasn’t the Law? Reexamining Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.” Michael Austin brings to the practice a wealth of knowledge of corporate transactions and business litigation.
